Irregular menstruation is any abnormal change in menstruation cycle, in quality and colour of flow or which occur at irregular interval, early or late. Menstruation earlier than due time by about a week is antedated menstruation, where as that late by about a week is considered postdated menstruation. Exogenous pathogenic cold or heat, emotional disturbances, indulgence in sex, grand multiparity etc. may lead to disharmony between qi and blood injury to chong, ren, and kidney, liver, or spleen channels.
