It is also called as irritable bowel, spastic colitis, mucous colitis, colonic neurosis or dessynergia of colon. Normal activity of bowel is altered. It is a common disorder of GIT particularly in educated and urban population. Some people don’t tolerate milk and bakery products, colonic infection may precede Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
